    .300BO subsonic boolits

It’s been awhile since I’ve cast anything, but I’m curious if anyone has tried to make .300 blackout rifle rounds from cast boolits. If so, we’re they able to function in an AR pattern rifle without much trouble? What did you make the boolits from, source wise? I’m thinking subsonic loads would be interesting to try, but I’ve never cast for a rifle caliber before and would love to hear your tips and tricks! Thanks!

To start, get the Lee 230 gr mold. It is what I started with, planning to get a NOE, but have never moved on. I powder coat them, as I am shooting them through a sealed suppressor. It's no match grade bullet, but for me suppressed subsonic shooting out of a 10.5" carbine is a 50 yard and under game. Because of their weight, they easily run a action. I've shot them as slow at 750 fps. I've used mostly W296 and CFE 300 BLK. If you want my loads, shoot me a PM

Here's the mold. Man has Biden hit us! I paid $22 around 3 years ago.

You might try Titian reloading for the above mold, I've had good luck with them.

First thing, check you speed of sound at your location and load the PC 230 grain bullets below that number. I use the JD Jones data on the 300 Whisper with H-110 and 296. About 1,000fps that shoots sub 1/2" at 50 in my 1-8 twist 16"AR. Alloy is very hard, 7-2-1 in WW, Lyno, Chilled shot, water dropped. Sized to groove diameter after PC.

Since they’re powder coated and subsonic is there a need to GC them? Just don’t want to lead up a new barrel if I can avoid it!

Be very careful with H110/W296 charges that are not 90%+ fill in the case. It may seem fine, but the secondary detonation thing is real.

I like the NOE taco boolit. It's a 225 grain bore rider and I put it on top of Aliant 2400. I shoot them about 1050 fps and it is really fun to shoot.
