Like it when a plan comes together

I had taken a break from casting due to time constraints. Due to rising costs I decided to get back into it to feed my 358 Winchester. I purchased a cheap Lee 35-200 for 35 bucks. Found some coww and bought some pewter ,cast 300 bullets from 3-3-94 alloy, powder coated with clear and a bit of black (thanks smoke), installed gator gas checks, and sized to .359. Loaded up some using FC 308 brass sized up to 358, CCI 200 primers, and Reloader 7. The 30 grain load shot well, see the photo. Velocity was 1920, ES was 34, group was .785 at 100 yards. Checked the barrel after 10 shots, only a bit of powder residue, no leading. I hope to get a chance to stick these in the vitals of a deer this year!

Too bad life doesn’t always turn out that way. When it does, you need to appreciate it.

Nice work. That will make meat all day long if you do your part 😉

MAN!!! How does someone NOT like THAT kinda performance! I'd expect 200 gr. at 1900 f/s to be PLENTY for downing anything edible in North America.
QUESTION: When you necked up the .308 brass to .358, did you use intermediate size expander plugs for the process and/or anneal your cases?

I actually got these from someone on here a few years ago and just got around to using them. So I actually did not do the nicking up myself
