Hello, I’m looking for this nut for a Harters swaging press and looking for dies if they’re reasonable
Are you referring to the knurled part? If so can you post a pic removed from the press please?
It looks like the same size as a standard reloading die. That would be 7/8” x 14 TPI. If so, you could go to a nut and bolt store and get a grade 8 or harder nut pretty easily. If it needs to be thinner, it could be machined down. If it needs the set screws, it could be drilled and tapped.
Or maybe I’m way out in left field?

I had to find this picture on the Internet. I am missing that retainer
And it’s threads into the Ram, but not very far
I'm pretty sure the 9 ton press and the ch are different thread sizes.
This one says herters on it, but it looks identical to ch

My Herter's 9 Ton press uses 7/8x14 threads (in the Ram). My C&H Press takes a different (finer) thread.
I assume they were all that way.
Greetings,
I reverse engineered the C-H Swag-O-Matic die parts.
The die retaining nut is 7/8-20.
Cheers,
Dave

Does the die have a shoulder the retaining ring rests against?
The die fits down in the ram, and then the retainer holds it in the ram I will get a picture
I have two similar swage presses , a CH Swag-o-Matic and a Luger Amarican. The CH uses a 7/8 x 20 thread and the Luger uses a 7/8 x 14 thread. both use the same dies and either would be easy to make from a 7/8 bolt of the right thread. The center hole is .720. Chuck the proper bolt and turn the head round then drill/machine the center hole to .720. Cut the bolt off to the length that will fit in the ram (about 3 or four threads depending on thread pitch). Drill a couple of small holes in the side of the rounded head to use a small pin to tighten and remove the new retainer nut. The overall length should be about the length of the narrow end of your die or a bit shorter.
Just curious, is your press iron or aluminum?
Iron. Thanks for the info do you know how the upper punch is held in place
