Not sure I ever read what the twist rate is on the Husqvarna single shots. I have never measured my .25-20.
I think one of the NZ members had one in .30-30 a few years ago.

Bruce, here is production data, but no twist rate listed. Might ask on the Swedish Civilian Firearms forum at Gunboards.com.

I'm not aware of an American built 30-30 with other than 10" or 12"twist. I have no idea about Swedish built rifles but it shouldn't be much different.

I had to google the Model 35 just to see what it is. Hadn't heard of the model before, and expected it to be similar to my Model 33, but it's a totally different action being a bolt gun, where my 33 is a Rolling Block.
I'd just put a tight patch on a jag, and check it that way. I'd expect it to be in the same twist rate as most older .30-30's are.
Abert Rim, thanks for that link, I lost it for several years.
Gewehr-Guy, I had to hunt for it, too.
Vall, Bill Powell here. Apparently the Model 35 is built on a Mauser 71 action. Now I'm kinda fascinated ...
So its a single shot Mauser type bolt action (that is, with a solid receiver, no cut out for magazine feed) we're talking about here? That sounds like it could just be slightly wonderful! Bench rest potential in a production rifle.

"It aint easy being green!"
Isn't it, basically, a copy of the 1871 Mauser?
Vall, I loved hunting and camping up on Abert Rim years ago, hence the "screen name."
Yes I believe so.

LOL I believe Ive seen that Kiwi rifle up for sale more than once on trademe.....
there has been a few husqvarna rifles pop up over the last few years....a 9.3 somthingorother has been listed half a dozen times.
While my .25-20 is a delight to shoot, as I am sure the .32-20 would be. The .30-30 probably won't be anything to worry about recoil wise, but I don't think I want to try one of the .45-70's.
These rifles are nowhere near the size of the Model 71 Mauser; same basic design, but smaller.
Robert
That is neat. I've always wanted a centerfire bolt action single shot and a lightweight 30-30 would be perfect.

I accidentally bought a 22lr single shot on the way home the other day.
I will have to mail this fellow for pre pics and info.
It looks like it has some wear of being shot.
That bore looks about like mine, but should clean up enough to shoot a decent group. Now for the bad news, I hope you have the extractor for your new rifle, as they will come right off the bolt when it is removed from the rifle. My 30-30 is missing one, and is the reason it doesn't get shot much. I talked with a man who claimed they also made that rifle in .32 Special, but have never seen one advertised by Husqvarna or privately.
