    WTB - S&W Model 10 4" Tapered Barrel - Barrel Only

My Dads first service revolver was a Model 10 that he had to buy, many years later he had the barrel changed to a bull barrel but it doesn't fit up to the frame properly and now that he's passed and I have all of his service guns and badges I'd like to put it back somewhat original to make a display case. If the barrel has some holster wear that's even better so let me know if anything is out there. I just need the barrel not a complete gun. Thanks

Ken, what vintage barrel are you looking for? I think I have a 4'' tapered barrel, probably from the 60's-70's. I think it has the wide serrated ramp front sight. Gotta dig it out.

Here's what I have, tapered, ramp sight, probably 70's vintage.

I don't have my S&W book handy, but I think the ramped front sight first appeared about 1952 or 53 or thereabout.

You're probably right, but the parts I believe are from the 60's-70's.

Thanks but the original barrel was a rounded front sight.

I believe your dad's gun was a S&W M&P and not a Model 10, maybe philthephlier has the correct one.

It's marked 10-5 so it's not an M&P, the sight on the barrel you posted looks similar to the one that was on it. and has the correct holster wear....
