Id been sitting out by the shop retaining wall as a makeshift blind at my Grandmothers lake house. The house and shop sit on 5 acres along with an adjacent 4 acres with no buildings owned by a neighbor. Neighbor encourages deer hunting. I watched this doe come in behind the shop. I walked around the front to wait for her to come around but she never did. I walked back around and came around the back wall and there she is 20 yards away. She turned and ran away from me slightly tracking left. I raised up, aligned the Skinner sights and hit her at 40 yards on the run. Boolit entered right behind the rib cage and exited right at the front of her shoulder, breaking her down. She tumbled down 40 yards or so of steep gully and piled up. Rifle is a Marlin 336 in 30-30, loaded with an NOE Hollowpoint lubed with Carnauba Blue, a homemade gas check, over 6.5 grains of Red Dot. As of this morning, all three of my centerfire hunting rifles have been blooded with cast boolits. Thank you again to all the help from members of this forum.
