    Stevens 520 help

Not sure if correct forum, pleas move if needed.

STEVENS 520 I need a couple parts, or a GURU. I got a 520 that a friend brought back from Vietnam. It needed new springs. I bought a donor. The donor needs the two main screws that go cross wise in the action. Any know a source? can make the screws? No hurry, but they have been sitting for a while. Would like to have wrapped up by springtime.
ps I watch the auctions sites a lot and have not found what I need ( springs maybe)

    thanks
    dave

A little late to the party, but maybe this can help. A few years ago, I bought and restored a Sears-branded “Ranger” that was a 1930s-era 520 they sold. In selling it some years later on GB, I learned from a bidder there were several iterations of the 520, the last of which carried over to the 620. A LOT of parts were the same throughout the 520s run, but it might be smart to really dig in to the small tweaks that were made to the design over the several decades Stevens/Savage made this. I know there are some resources online (at least they were) and it seems as though there are still a lot of parts and insight to be found, but it’ll take some digging … and for me, it’s been over a decade. One thing’s for sure, that is a HEAVY gun and the pitch of the stock still made it unpleasant to shoot!

    Good luck!

The 520-30 trigger guard/group is held in the frame by a cross-wise screw at the rear,,and a cross-wise pin at the front of it.
    Part#'s 30 & 31 on the Numrich diagram.
The screw at the rear has it's head countersunk into the left side wall of the frame.

The only other long threaded screw I can think of off hand in the 520-30 would be the tang screw.
