Generally, the Lyman/Ideal hollow base pins I’ve seen are held in a socket in the wood by a cross pin driven through a hole located and drilled through the side. Where the excess was cut off can usually be seen in the middle of a scuffmark on the ferrule part of the wood.

Is the crosspin in place? That it might be missing is the only reason I can think of for the wood coming loose. If there isn’t one, it can be drilled on a drill press and crosspinned with a brad or nail of the right size.

My first choice would be none other than J B High temp epoxy, available from Amazon for less than nine U S dollars.Click image for larger version.

An alternative might be a product by Masterbond ( https://www.masterbond.com/tds/ep17ht-lo ) -- their #17 high temperature: EP17HT which might work for you.
HOWEVER, again, I think I'd be tempted to try some JB Weld. Note -- just my thoughts...

Local to me vendors -- including Tractor Supply -- have a couple/three types/varieties of JB Weld on a rack-end pegboard but I have never seen -- nor at Ace or True Value -- the HIGH TEMP version; why I provided the Amazon suggestion...
