I had a Rossie and loved it. I still have Rossie '92 in 44mag. I am not a fan of mid barrel open sights so I installed a rail and have mounted a re dot on the gun. Great little shooter. My friend says I can buy back the .357 any time I wnat it so next spring Ičll get the .357 back and aff the rail and red dot.

Great shooter. I did not experience anything bad about the gun.

Its been months since I bought the book, "How to scam people online". It still has not arrived yet!

Thanks. I mostly use Williams and Lyman peeps on my rifles so I'll get it D&T eventually. The folding Marble's rear is certainly good enough for now.

My old eyes work better with glass, so I mounted a Weaver 4x scout scope, now quite accurate.

The mounting holes are pre-tapped under the rear sight on round barreled guns.

NOE, the mold people, make a scope base for the gun.

Thanks, I noticed those extra holes under the rear sight. Will check that out if I should ever decide to scope it.

I've got a Leupold 2x scout scope on my Rossi carbine. Liked it so much I had a Gunsmith D&T my 24" octagon barrel and put a pistol scope on it.

Gave the Rossi more exercise today. Found it really likes 6.8 grains 4756 under the Lee 125 so ill be shooting that until the powder runs out. I wonder what a good Hodgdon/IMR replacement for 4756 would be? Alliant powders are an endangered species around here.

Skinner now also makes a very nice sight base for the drilled and tapped Rossi '92s. GF

I don't think that Lee 125 cares what powder is pushing it. I used 4.5 Bullseye@ 1200fps and Power Pistol to 1400 fps. As long as I kept it in that range it was 3moa all day out of both my 92's. When you run out of 4756 get some Tightgroup and try in the 4-5gr. range.

Thanks, will do. Titegroup is one of the few usually available here. Pit more rounds through the 92 today and it still shoots good. I find that I need to have a pretty tight grip on the forend or I'll string shots upward. Also, my max distance with sights is around 60 yards. Beyond that, I have trouble telling exactly what is above the front sight.

My favorite sight on several of my rifles including the Rossi is the Marbles Bullseye sight. Well made very strong sight. Works really well for acquisition of target.

Thanks. I have a Bullseye and tried it, but ended up liking the folding leaf better.

    Hello all,
This past Christmas my son got a Rossi lever in .38/357. Well he loves it and so do I he had a ball shooting. A week later I purchased a 44 mag for myself. I been reloading for many years and bought a Lee 125 grn rnfp and they are great plinking rounds. A week ago I ordered MP Mold. .359 Hammer 6 cavity mold. Having trouble finding load data. Been using bullseye, blue dot and tite group for other loads and calibers. My son asked if he can use it deer hunting next year So I want a good accurate load for him. Hopefully someone can guide me in the correct direction. Hopefully I can load the .359 hammer sized and powder coated in 38 spl. And .357 mag.
    Thanks in advance

I just recently bought one of the new CBC built Rossi 92's in 357 magnum. I bought the 24" octagon model.

One of my favorite rifles to shoot is my Marlin 1894 32-20 built in 1901. It also has a 24" barrel

I thought "Why not try to duplicate 32-20 loads in my Rossi?"

I loaded the Lee 358-125 RF over 4.5 gr of HP38 and over 4 gr of Bullseye. Both loads shot to the sights at 50 yards and grouped 1 1/2 to 2". I was very happy.

I wanted to try further and check the bullet drop at 100 yards but everything past the 50 yard line was under water. Plus it was pretty dang cold so I called it a day.

    Very happy with this rifle.

The .359 Hammer works beautifully in my Rossi 92. My favorite load uses 300MP, and I won't list the charge because it's likely around 40 kpsi.

But for a full magnum load, any published data for a 180 grain bullet for 2400, 296 or other mag powder will work very well with the .359 Hammer bullet.

I haven't tried this bullet with .38 Special loads. I think it would probably be a little on the heavy side for .38 Special velocity.

For .38 loads in my 92, I use the RCBS 38-150-K over 4.0 grains of 231.

In my Marlin 1894 I load the NOE 180 gr WFN GC over 14 gr of unobtainium, I mean 2400. This gives me around 1750 fps. I think this bullet is similar to the .359 Hammer.

But for everyday range plinkers I cut the charge back to 12.5 gr of 2400. This goes about 1500 fps and is a little more accurate.

If you get the plain base version load 10.5 gr of 2400 or 9.5 gr of A #9 for 1300 fps.

I have the older Puma Rossi like your's and 11.5 grs. of 2400 under Missouri Bullet's 180gr pugnose is very accurate load.
With a decent rest I can ring a 6" plate at 100 yds. very consistently.

Don't get greedy on "heavy for caliber" and try the 358627 bullet in the Rossi. Twist weight is too slow to stabilize and they hit the target sideways at 25 yards.

I wonder if the HP version of the 200 grain RCBS FNGC would stabilize?
