    Burnside Shooters

I acquired an original model 5 Burnside. I bought the brass and bullet mould. Using 3FFF black powder only and musket nipples
This carbine is a real hoot to shoot.

I acquired one a few years ago. But black powder here is scarce.
    Can't justify using 777.
    Glad you got yours going!

I have used 3F and 2F, mostly Goex but some Olde Eynsford. A nice accurate load uses a 56 caliber round ball.

We use 2 f Goex, the tapered brass cartridges, and a 450 grain conical boolet, shoots great and goes clean through a bison... Can hardly believe this was five years ago already...

I have a model 1960 that I re-barreled to 56-50. I've only shot round ball so far. It is fun to shoot. I need to make or buy a conical mould as I would like a heavier bullet to hunt with.
BIG OR SMALL I LIKE THEM ALL, 577 TO 22 HORNET.
