    Marlin Model 1888 38-40

I just got a Model 1888 that I had seen in Dallas at a collectors show back in February. I finally got the guy convinced to ship it to me and I got it yesterday.

It is a nice gun with a decent bore and a 28 inch barrel. I shot it and it hits perfectly as the sights are set....

Very nice rifles. Congratulations. I love those old Marlins. My 93 chambered in 38-55 is a treasure in my collection. I hope your 88 shoots well. My 38-40 model 73 is very fun to shoot. I load her with 3Fg black powder and a Lee 175 grain boolit and we just have a ball together.

Again congrats on your adoption of a very cool rifle.

Very nice accumulation of various 38-40's. Thanks for sharing the picture! One can only imagine all the incidents and experiences, they were involved in.
