    Almost there...

I was in town for a medical appointment so I figured I'd drive another mile and check out the local Goodwill store. The last few trips there were unfruitful but this time I scored nice looking toaster oven for 10 bucks...

There wasn't anything made of pewter anywhere to be found but I'll keep checking back. I'm also looking for a pot suitable for bulk lead melting so I can melt what I have together for a more consistent alloy.

On the way home a friend called to talk about shooting and I mentioned my good fortune and plans to powder coat boolits and he offered to give me a left over can of pearl gray powder.

It's been raining so hard I've left the toaster oven in the truck but I'll get it inside soon and I'll have the powder by the end of the week when we can figure a good time to meet up.

I've put out feelers to my friends in construction to keep an eye out for more lead. Now that I'm getting more serious about casting, I'm concerned about running out.

It's still around for new construction, but I see less and less as the years go by.
Multi story buildings will have big Lead bends they set for commodes.
It has a top part that sticks up and gets cut off when the floor is poured.

A source for a little of it is the big box stores.
Hit up the person that runs the dept. where Lead flashings are. It's over by all the lumber and roofing stuff at ours.
When the have a clean up, the ones kids smash up get thrown out.
I've gotten a couple just for asking.
In school: We learn lessons, and are given tests.

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.
This ain't your Grandma's sewing circle.

I have a a bottle of black airsoft BB's and a pack of plastic mixing bowls with lids on the way from Amazon. These are (I think) the last couple things I needed to get rolling on PC'ing boolits. I know I could have use a coolwipp bowl but no one in my family likes the stuff. Also I got the bowls for 6 bucks because they were a returned item. Since I'm not using them in the kitchen, I could give a rat's A if there used... I should have my first batch done in about a week.
