What make is that rifled choke tube? I'd be interested in one like that but I have not seen one that long except on Taofledermaus. The old Browning rifled choke tubes were about 5" long IIRC.

Thanks for that but it looks like they may not be available anymore. I went to the site and no sign of extended rifled choke tubes so I googled "Hastings Rifled Choke Tube" and it takes me here:

    https://www.hastingsdistribution.com...duct_list&c=30

Which is what you have but I cannot find it on the site and searching with "HASTINGS EXTENDED RIFLED CHOKE TUBES - 12GA" on the site finds nothing.

    I'll try contacting them.

    Thanks,

I bought my rifled choke tube from Hastings last year, and the lady I bought it from said that once they were all sold, they won't carry them anymore.

If you know of anyone that shoots a Hastings shotgun barrel, I would probably part with this one and look for a rifled barrel.

I did however use this rifled tube last year and shot a deer at 125 yards with one of my Diablo Slug loads, and it hammered the deer I shot with it.

Look what I ran into while looking for something else:

    https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/...oothbore-slugs

Scroll down almost to the bottom and Ranch Dog has a post about Hammerhead slugs and smoothbore where he is getting excellent accuracy.

I guess that answers that question!

I haven't been in contact with Ranch Dog since about 2019 I think when he posted his Lee slug success in smoothbore here:

    https://castboolits.gunloads.com/sho...-Tail-Feathers

I got hold of him on the Lee Loader forum afterwards and we PM'd a couple of times.

Apparently the Lee Loader forum was not running for a time but is back now. Not sure for how long or the reasons.

    That's all I've got.
