I've played with 11.8 to 12.6 grains of Red Dot behind the Lee 310, for a plinking load. Accuracy was only fair at 5 into 1.3 inch and 10 into 2.5" at 25 yards out of the Ballard rifled barrel.
If you have a Marlin lever with the slightest bit of looseness to the buttstock, these heavy boolits will notice that, and string vertically.
I give loading advice based on my actual results in factory rifles with standard chambers, twist rates and basic accurizing.
My goals for using cast boolits are lots of good, cheap, and reasonably accurate shooting, while avoiding overly tedious loading processes.

A few musings.

Interesting looking site thanks.
PS thanks to all those who replied
My favorite load so far:
Lee 310gr wfn gc
13.3gr of Red Dot
WLP primer
I shoot this from my H&R single shot rifle and got ragged hole groups at 50 yards and about 1,350 fps velocity.
Nice and easy on the shoulder.

That is nice..i can make the 310...and I have many many pounds of red dot... And I love that it is in the 13xx fps range.
No tabs that I see. Using office 365 mobile.
240. grs. of 2400 over a 310-325 gr. cast is a Hoot.

In a Contender, using the short Hornady cases (from pulled factory flex tip 444 ammo), I loaded the 310 Lee to the rear crimp groove up to 47 gr of H4895.
I also loaded the Accurate 43-280G (which I designed) over 30 gr of XMR5744 & 13.5 gr Trailboss.
The original Contender doesn't take well to factory 444 loads, and so if these seem somewhat light or you question the use of 4895 in the cartridge, my having used these in a Contender should explain it.
Having used in a Contender, I have no idea about feeding in a lever gun should someone intend to use that way.
Don't use this data copy-paste into anything. Mull it over to understand if you think it crack-pot and work up if you want something similar. I also would not substitute bullets with copy-paste data either.
