43 Spanish smokeless loads for a Rolling Block

Does anyone have any experience loading the 43 Spanish with 4227 or 4895?
    I'm using a 390 grain bullet.

    Thanks

Many years ago I read of people using 3031, but I do not recalled the charge. I finally managed to buy some 43 spanish brass. I know there was more than one way of loading the round with paper patch bullets being used in some cases. I figure the safe way is to use black powder.

All the loads I have use IMR 4759, IMR 3031, AA 5744, Herc 2400, Reloader 7, AA8700 AA4350 and Blue Dot. I bought 50lbs of surplus powder from Jeff Bartlett that uses AA8700 info just for this and duplexing other loads.

28gr IMR 3031 from "Shooting The .43 Spanish Rolling Block" by Croft Barker.
I have another data sheet from a manual that lists smokeless powder and uses bottom
45-70 loads minus 10% using the powders in the previous post. Doesn't say what firearm but id go with trapdoor myself. I have not tried them, though

Thanks for the posts. The reason I asked about 4227 and 4895 is that I was given an 8 pounder of each. I'll give the reduced 45-70 loads a try.

I have only used AA 5744 in mine but if somebody gave me a keg, let alone 2 KEGS of powder ! I would be looking for loads too.
    Good luck.
