    I would think that I'd have to figure out how to remove the handles from the Lee molds to do the lathe method. I've been wanting a lathe and this would be one more reason to get one...

    I think Eric over at Hollowpointmoulds.com can mill the GC part off the top of the mould, for you.

    No mill? No Lathe?
    Clamp a handheld belt sander to your bench(or tailgate). Makes a great surfacing machine. My 3X21 belt sander has machined more metal than sanded wood.

    Tap the wood handles off, the tangs are much shorter. This also gives you the opportunity to glue and pin them when you put them back on

    I have a bench mounted belt sander but I'm skeptical of how well I could cut a mold down with it and have it be even. I have one Lee mold I screwed up in my early days of casting and I could try knocking off the handles to see how difficult it is. I could tap it for screws when I put it back together.

    I'm still looking for a reasonable priced lathe but I always seem to be a day late or too far away from the good deals.
