    357 Maximum & the Bradshaw/Martin Bullet

Shot this buck on Oct. 12th at 142 yds with a 197 gr. Bradshaw/Martin cast bullet. Bullet went through both lungs & exited, buck buckled in the back end & almost went down, he started to turn around & I shot again but missed & he started running straight at me for 10-15 yds & fell over in the stubble.

Gary, its one of the 10.5" barrel Maximums & the load is 18.5 grs of 4227, Remington 7 1/2 primer & 197 gr bullet with no crimp groove. It's designed to be deep seated by David Bradshaw & is extremely accurate. We use just a slight crimp over the top driving band & also the bullet is gas checked. The mold was made by Mountain Molds. I think David Bradshaw & Lee Martin's bullets weigh 194 grs.

Jim, it isn't any louder than any other six gun if you're using heavy bullets & that longer barrel. Plus I use muffs or ear plugs when I'm set up ambush style in the brush waiting for them to work their way off of the mountain to come down into the fields. Hopefully it's just one shot & not a gun battle!!

Good shot and nice size deer . What did it dress out to? How much the weight of the meat you got ? I shot a doe doing the archery with a crossbow and came out with 68lbs. package in the freezer . Working on to get one with the muzzle loader. Good job .

    Good morning and Congratulations!
Those are some fine looking grass munchers. Good shooting also..
What do your deer weigh out there ??
I am also a Supermag shooter. Have yet to pop one with the 357.

    Nice work.

Don't ever let Ruger get their hands on that lovely sixgun man, you will never see it again.

Most of the deer I've taken with the 357 Maximum have been with 180 gr HP's, but the first one was with a 173 gr Keith bullet & the kill was instant at about 95 yds, the buck walked straight back for about 6-7 yds & dropped from a double lung shot. The other 6-7 deer & I think 4 Antelope were taken between 70 yds & 220 yds. Only one deer ran more than 40 yds, most went right down.
We really need Ruger to bring back the 357 Maximum. There's no other gun that has the low recoil & the long range capability of this gun, it's a proven winner.

    Nice job!

I also wish Ruger would bring back the 357 Max in the Blackhawk. The closest thing available now is the S&W in 350 Legend.

You can get the BFR in 357 max.
