    WTT: H&G molds, have <see list>, want #42,60,62,82,86,92,105

    Unicorn hunt.

    I have the following H&G handgun molds, in calibers I don't shoot: #44, 251, 255, 263, 315, 332, and 503 (.38, .40, .41, and .44 handgun) -- actually I do shoot .38, but the #251 is 10 cavities, which is just too heavy for me.

    Would like to trade for H&G rifle molds, in .22, .25, .30, .348, and/or .35 -- specific mold numbers as listed in the thread title: #42, 60, 62, 82, 86, 92, and/or 105.

Pics on request, and of course we'll go over mold condition, cavity count, handles, presumed rarity, trade value, etc.

Hoping I have your Unicorn, and you have mine. Thanks for looking!

I may have what is a Unicorn's 3rd cousin removed, of course. It is a Two cavity Hensley & Gibbs mould labeled "42 99". To wit, one cavity is .30 (for U S .30-40 Krag) with the second cavity for U S .30'06 Springfield. My guess is it was one of custom moulds they produced... In any case, at least the "42" is present .

Advise what mould you have which would be for .44 Special, if you have interest.

I'd pass on the 3rd cousin, if a 2nd cousin turns up. It's only been a day or so. Let's let this run a while longer, and see if I get lucky.

    I don't shoot .44, and don't know the nuances, but both of the H&G .44 cal's (#44 and #503) are 250 gr., if that's a clue.

As above, I'd prefer a trade -- but of course I'd sell if no suitable trade turns up. Again, let's let this run a while longer. Meanwhile, I'm working on a PM for you.

The 44, 255, and 263 are 4 cavities; the 315, 332, and 503 are 6 cavities; and, as you noted, the 251 is 10 cavities.

    Thanks, everyone, for your interest.

Thank you for the consideration and I look forward to your PM.

    #263 SPF.

    #44, 251, 315, 332, and 503 still available, and adding a #130 (4-cavity).

I do shoot .45, and thought about keeping the #130, but it's the shorter, lighter (185 gr) SWC, and those haven't worked well for me. So offered here.

Also, I'd like to open this up for other trades -- my H&G want list apparently being more rare than albino Unicorn fawns -- so here are a couple more items from Gunwonk's crazy long shot want list:

    • aluminum bullet mold clone of 311291 or 31141

    Thanks for looking!

    Monthly bump.

    Need to clarify: the #44 is actually a #44GC (4-cav, 250 gr).

(This came to my attention because -- according to hensleygibbs.com -- the #44GC is 250 grains, while the #44 w/o gas check is 210 grains. I hadn't expected them to be different weights, but there you are.)
