Upgrade for my Lee 20 melter

Just started back into casting after a few years off and noticed that Lee had improved their 20# furnace.

My furnace has the old style valve rod which is adjustable by turning a screw next to the rod.

I've checked with Lee about the parts needed and would like some advise on any problems that I might encounter.

    Thanks for your help.

Remove screw. Get a cheap tap handle and place on top of rod, allowing full closing of valve. Spin handle after pouring to stop drip.
    Whatever!

I changed one over to the newer style a couple years ago on a pot I picked up from a member without any drama . Just make sure you have everything you need when ordering , so you don't pay shipping 2-3 times .
After using the pot with the older style screw beside the valve I understood why people had a problem with the lee post .

I took a look on the lee sight for parts to rebuild or convert to a new valve style the 20 pound bottom pour .
Here is what I came up with
Things you definitely need are the new style rod and the assembly to replace the old style
    EL 3427 valve rod
    EL 3426 valve arm assembly
Things you may need like a new knob and hardware
    EM 1120 valve knob
    FE 3463 8-32x1 carriage bolt
    EL 4161 8-32x15/32 nut
If you need new screws to attach the new valve arm assembly to the top and bottom of the pot .
    EL3444 #6 shoulder bolt
FE 2754 #6 SAE flat washer
The part numbers are Lee's - from the lee's online sight .
I don't recommend changing the bottom pour nipple in the bottom of the pot unless really necessary because you can do more harm than good trying to remove it .
    Good luck

Perfect. Appreciate you taking the time to acquire all the part numbers.
This is the way I want to go.

I just finished placing my order for all of the parts and was surprised that there wasn't a charge.
    Shipping was the only charge.
    Great company !!

It could be a problem with their site. Might want to go back later for another attempt.
My order went through with out a problem and all items ordered were here by the end of the week.
