No real preference here--I use both. If you are intending to sell some of it be sure to post your WTS ad in the Swappin' & Sellin' section, and please read the pertinent rules.

Brass -- like us -- ages; it also becomes brittle with use/reloads. Hence, if it was me, I'd send whichever is either/and or the oldest or most-fired down the road. Just my thoughts...

Understood, but this rag-tag collection has no provenance to help me with that decision. I reloaded little .30-06 & ignorant of any desirable inherent qualities from these two manufactures. May be like Ford vs Chevy; 'love' vs 'love to hate' , eh. Thanks.

Anyone notice the rims on the Win being a little thicker than other brands?

Fifty years ago Winchester brass was thinner than Remington brass but was still better than Federal brass from my 22-250's perspective.
Nowadays I use those three plus Hornady and GI brass in the 30-06 and they're all working just right. My cast loads are put up in 1936 vintage GI brass with no drama.
So I'd probably keep the Remington brass for the easier to read headstamp.....

I have gotten the most reloads out of Remington brass, then Winchester, then Federal. Federal being the softest, primer pockets would get loose fast. Israeli military the best in my M1A.

So there it is the definitive answer . I once had a slide , commercial and GI 06's . The Rem slide action preferred Winchester, although we never did come to an understanding the GI rifle came closest with FC which was odd because it was an 11-43 Rem 03A3 . The final irony was the 1965 Savage turning the best commercial ammo groups it ever shot with LC43 M2 ball . The Savage would shoot with Win but not Rem and the Rem 760 wouldn't chamber RP unless it actually fired it from factory and it was hard crush sized with a 10 count cam over hold .

I'd keep the Win myself and send the Rem to the reform bucket .

I ran into the same problem> All that was needed was a tight full length die. 760, 742, 740, 7400, 7600 all tight chambers.

I use the brand type to segregate my usage. Example, Winchester brass is for my bolt action, HXP is for my Garand, Remington is used as reformed 7.65 Argentine. This allows me to help separate my loads by usage.

I use LC in my match rifle, I'd buy quantities of any others for "zombie" ammo. WWl or WWll stuff is corrosive suspected. But if you have a bunch.... any Berdan primed goes in the bin.
