    Picked up from the local scrap yard. 2400 tare. Included 2 linotype pigs, 1 ea, 5 lb 60/40 solder, and 200 lbs of organ pipe,(tin).

    Nice. Yards anywhere near me don't sell to the public. One even told me they wouldn't take aluminum cans as they didn't want to catch covid. I laughed at the lady as I couldn't believe the idiocy and asked if they were drinking from them. They were in MD.

    More detail. About twenty ingots shaped like a kidney. Pic shows melted edge with the touch of a torch. Droppings break easily with a hammer. Rings like a bell. Specific gravity by my garage lab around 7.1 ish.

    Be careful... lots of white looking lead oxide on that old lead. try not to breathe the dust

    You’re going to be busy for a while, processing that magnificent score.

    It may not matter to you, but my little bit of reading on the subject suggested that not only did old pipe organs vary the note of each pipe by changes in length and diameter, but, for both structural and tonal reasons, might also vary the alloy. So a big pipe might have a different % tin compared to a small one.

    I got some lead with white oxide on it. Can you wash it off with water?
