    Question Redfield Spotting Scope

Well, as usual, I’m way behind the times.

Years ago I bought (new) a very nice Redfield spotting scope - a “Rampage 80.” I’ve been using it with a nice Freeland tripod stand (that probably cost me more than the scope).

Yesterday at the range, I noticed for the first time that the eyepiece can be pulled out farther. The box says “Twist up eyecup easily adjusts for those with or without eyeglasses.” As you twist the eyecup, you can stop at “12.6,” “16.3,” or “20.0”. I’m a little baffled by those settings, so I went looking for the manual, but couldn’t quickly put my fingers on it - so I tried to go to Redfield’s website, only to learn that they sold themselves to Leopold, and then Leopold sold them off to some outfit called Academy. But no joy on their website.

So - do any of you have one of these scopes with the manual? I’m still curious about those settings on the eyecup.

    TIA
If somebody were down on the corner handing out $20 bills, someone else would be complaining that it wasn't two $10s.

Found the manual - just a little pamphlet, really. No mention of the numbers on the eyecup. Oh, well…
