    Simple Locksmith Graphite Mold Release

I used to use the LETS (long gone) white graphite for mold release. It was awesome and protected against rust.

When it was no longer available, I tried conventional graphite for locks in a spray can from McFadden-Dale.

This stuff has no residual carrier - it is FOR LOCKS? The carrier evaporates, leaving a nice coat of graphite on your molds.

It is a wonderful release agent. It MIGHT also protect against rust.

    Good stuff.

Make sure IT HAS NO RESIDUAL CARRIER? If it for locks, it should not have that.
Kalifornia passes "feel good" legislation hand over fist, legislation that is looking for a problem to solve and affecting only law abiding persons.

So, after 40 years of that nonsense, that's why I now live in Arizona.

I've thought about it for a while now. We used to use that stuff on our locks when traveling through real bad weather. Great stuff and left no residuals. Its been so long i don't remember the brand name. Now to find some and try it out.

The product I use for locks is "Lock-Ease", a powdered graphite lubricant in a very volatile carrier, its in either a small aerosol can or a plastic squeeze bottle, both of which are dark blue with IIRC yellow, text labeling. Ace Hardware has it on the shelf up here in the cold country.
