My DCM carbine cost me $20 plus shipping in 1962
My Garand was all of $112.50 in 1976. As New H&R 1964 rebuild program.
    Wish I still had them.
I have only my father-in-law's Garand. Another 1964 rebuild program gun- as new. Helped him get it from DCM in about 1978. It went to my son after father in law passee away.
I bought it from my son some years back when he needed money. Unfortunately, the box and the cleaning kit,etc had been separated from the rifle. Gone.

I still have a Carbine bought from a brother officer when he was getting ready to retire. He'd been a SeaBee in the Pacific in WWII, I think it may have been a bring back, but I can't confirm. No import marks though.

Early type with flat bolt, no bayonet lug, and high stock. Only improvement was the later adjustable rear sight. Bought around 1975 for $75, he threw in a fabric military case, a cased military cleaning kit, and some 1943 dated ammo. I think I did okay on that deal.

I passed on a Japanese Nambu pistol he had for $125, that was probably a mistake. My rationalization was I couldn't find an ammo source at the time, and I was more into shooting than collecting.

Just wondering what numbers match, since the receiver is the only (serial) numbered part.

I bought my first Blue Sky M1 at a department store in Columbus, OH in the late 80’s for less than $100. The crown was shot, and I replaced the barrel with one in the “correct” date range, and ultimately restored it with correct parts. Wish I still had it.
