Lyman 310 Dei Reference chart notations

I was using several die reference charts to sort thru some of the misc. dies and found some unusual notations on one chart. The Excel chart appears to taken from the old Lyman handbooks with additional notations in the expanding chamber column. It's broken up into "pistol" cartridges and "rifle" cartridges, so I understand the P & R notations. What I don't get is the M added to the expanding chamber for the 22 K Hornet and the 22 Lovell. These were among the earlies wildcats, but why the M? It's probably academic, but curiosity won out. I used to annoy Rick Morrill with these trivia question but since he's gone dark, ya'll have become my target.

I think we annoyed Rick M. right out of business. He still owes me parts or money. Don't know what the M means in this case. Green Frog might know

IIRC - the expansion chambers and neck sizing chambers came in three sizes
non marked - pistol length cartridges
    m - medium - intermediate size cartridges
    l - long - rifle length cartridges

You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.

If I’m reading your question correctly, Scott has your answer. I believe there were only 3 lengths of expander die bodies and only the piece in the middle changed.

Then again, I could be wrong, and have been before!
