    Winchester model 43

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge on how to take apart the bolt assembly? I just purchased one and before i go ahead and do this i would like to know if there are any particularities about it.

    .

IIRC, remove the bolt from the action via pulling the trigger with the safety "off", then remove crosspin through the lower portion of the bolt handle, just ahead of the bolt handle.

    CAUTION ! !

The main spring is under considerable tension when the pin is pulled.

I would strongly suggest disassembling the bolt with it inside a very strong container, lest the parts go into orbit.

Afterward, the various bolt parts R&R is straightforward
