Have had a few, good news, they are like AK's they just run and run. Not pretty, but they just lean forward and work like a draft horse.

I have a Garand which is in pretty ugly shape but:

    - I paid right around a grand for it about 5 years ago
    - It's got all matching part numbers inside
    - It's a Springfield
    - The SN dates it to '42
    - It shoots like a dream

I have no doubt it would have stories of the duty it performed in WWII if it could just speak. Maybe it will tell me in my dreams some time.

In my mind, ugly or not, a true treasure.

EDIT: Oops. It said pistols. Sorry. Delete if you like.

I had to really think about this question...

My answer is No. No, I would not spend my money on a firearm I thought was ugly. I already have functional firearms and so am not desperate enough to buy a firearm without considering its appearance. Why would I want to spend money on something I don't enjoy seeing?

If someone else think's my gun is ugly, well, I don't care. And they should not care if I think their gun is ugly.

I have a S&W model 1 1/2 3rd issue with the entire finish gone and the pistol covered in a thin coat of rust. It was a great great aunt's pistol from when she worked for a police department. Do I think it's ugly? Not really. Would you? Probably.

Yes I will. A polymer 9mm & 45 ACP are examples and are considered "tools". However ownership of those tools alone would not render me an enthusiast and ever find me perusing this forum and replying to such a poll!

Ugly is different things to different people. Rusted or scratched ? Probably won’t buy a pistol in that condition. Hi Point ? Too ugly for me. Glock ? Not ugly in my opinion and I would happily buy a G17 and G45 to keep my G43x company. Of course others may think of Glocks as High Point level ugly. It’s all personal perspective in the end.

Cz-52 in 7.62x25 made the year after I was born. Not what I would call a pretty gun. Ugly, well sorta hit by the homely stick a time or 2 yeah.Click image for larger version.

Plain steel, Bakelite grips, nothing pretty about this girl. But, built like a tank. Run forever on a drop of oil and keep right on ticking over. Solid.

    Pretty is as pretty does.

    I did it, by buying a plastic-frame HK 45 .
it worked fine, etc., but I didn't have peace until recently I got rid of it. I relieved myself by buying a vintage 27-2 snub which is a beauty, and to hell the plastic guns_
Food is overrated. A nice rifle is way more important.

I put 9 shots of 9mm loaded with Lee 105 swc over Power Pistol into 2" at 30 paces (from the bench) with my butt ugly C9 Hi- point the other day.
In that moment she looked OK!

    I bought a Glock!
    Once!
But it does seem to function as intended although it's not shot much.

there are a lot of contenders, but right now Noah's Dryse gets my vote. Until someone drags out one of those Charter Arms Pistol versions of the AR-7, I think he's the front runner.

I owe an apology to all Glock owners:
