Simple 9mm Largo to 9mm Luger Destroyer Conversion

I stumbled on a simple way to convert a Spanish Destroyer Carbine to 9mm Luger!
Take a piece of 9mm brass 4 millimeters long and insert it into the chamber to shorten it!
What is the opinion of the group on this?

Tried that several times with both shortening to 38 Super and 9mmP. Insert lasted fro only a few rounds then came out. My destroyer was a shooter so I set the barrel back 1/2 turn, a small insert made to block the original extractor gap which was now at the 6 o'clock position, ground/polished a new feed ramp and the repositioned the sights. It now feeds and shoots 38 Supers with aplomb.

    Does this make sense.
about our legal nonsenses, when semiautos in 9x19 were prohibited here but allowed in 9x21imi, one way to continue using the ammo alone in 9para was the insertion of a tiny steel ring.
I just report it because I have always hated the 9x21, and until yesterday we could not have bought anything in the original 9para caliber, here.
today vintage 9x19s, lawfully allowed, have skyrocketed, of course, while the 9imi is appreciated by dynamic shooters only.
Food is overrated. A nice rifle is way more important.

I had several Astra 9x21 that I converted to 9mm Lugar.
I made steel rings that incerted in the chamber of a warm barrel with a press fit.
Then just ran a 9x19 chamber reamer in to reset the headspace and true up the chamber.
I never had one come loose.

I bought a steel conversion ring like that for my 21/400 Astra, but tinned and soldered it in place. It has held for twenty plus years.

For my largo's I just handload 9x19 brass with cast boolit, seat it out to chamber correctly. I have had very good luck with 150 gr SWC
