4. SOLD PENDING FUNDS NEVER FIRED - Pedersoli flintlock “W. Moore” pistol. This particular pistol I believe was a store display sample. I purchased it to compete with and about the same time, we had some family health issues. By the time I got back to it, my eyesight was not sharp enough to compete any more. This pistol has never been shot. .45 rifled octagon barrel is 10 inches long and measures .865” across flats. The blued barrel has a post front sight and a dovetailed fixed rear sight. If you hold the pistol up to light, you can see some spots in the bluing – what some would call blemishes. I don’t know if they are from it being handled in the store and looked at or if it is a result of the bluing process at the factory. It doesn’t bother me but I wanted to mention it, and, it in no way affects the function of this fine pistol. The barrel is marked in nice Italic lettering “W. Moore” on the top flat, on one adjacent flat “Made In Italy” and on the other adjacent flat – Black Powder Only Cal. 45. The stock has a high quality checkered panel on each side of the grip area. Lock is held on with two lock bolts – lock is engraved and marked London. The half-stock has a nice nose piece and the barrel has an under-rib – wood ramrod has a nice flared brass tip on one end and a feral tip on the other with a threaded pin to attach jags, etc. The lock throws a good shower of sparks and the frizzen has a roller frizzen spring. Single trigger has no slack in it and breaks with a nice crisp feel to it. Pedersoli firearms are not cheap but the quality over the run of the mill production guns seems to be worth it. This is a nice higher quality pistol that will serve anyone who likes shooting single shot flintlock pistols very well – whether you just like to plink or if you want to seriously compete.
