Anyone use clays in subsonic load in 30-30?

I have lots of clays, large pistol primers and lots of 150 gr Accurate plain base bullets.

Anyone have any experience using clays with light loads in 30-30 using large pistol primers?

I have never used Clays but use 700X as my 1000fps load on plain base. I would think that Clays would be just fine.
My 700X load is just under 6.0 grains if my memory serves. I have used Red Dot, Green Dot, Bullseye and a few others but 700X gave the best accuracy. I only have a pound of Clays so I haven't played with it all that much. gmdr.com list a lot of fast powders but Clays wasn't tested. I won't suggest a load but I'm sure somebody around here has.

Isn't Clays just Hodgdon's play on Red Dot? Should work very much the same.

Clays is a good plinker powder in this application. I used 6.2gr behind a 165gr .310" cast flat point for 1050fps, 20" barrel. WLR primer as large pistol might sit too deep in the primer pocket.
