I could help myself, big lot of old ammo.

I was checking out auctions and the cover picture for this auction was a box of Eley 450 coiled brass ammo. I own a double rifle in 450 BPE and I could not resist. I won't shoot this ammo but a 150 year old gun needs a box of 150 year old ammo.

There were other treasures in this bunch of stuff. I will be posting pictures and quizzes. I need help identifying some of this stuff. Some old stuff like a really old unopened box of .32 S&W and a full box of .32 rimfire shot cartridges, I know what they are but will share the pictures. Now 2 rounds of RWS 10.3 x 60R., bright and shiny new factory ammo I would guess but I never heard of that one. Half a dozen 6.5mm rounds with very long cruise missiles on them some silver and some copper, hard to read head stamp might have in some funny alphabet.

You may have a noticeable percentage of all the .32 rimfire anything left in existence.

After work around 1986 everybody drove down the same lonesome road to get back to town. There was an old gravel pit where some of us would pull off and bust a few caps while having a beer before going home. One guy pulled out a lever action .32 rimfire to shoot and I, at the time collecting my little weird assortment of oddball ammo I kept in a cigar box, asked if I could have one for my collection. Dude, looked like I had asked to kiss his wife!!! Got a lecture on the scarcity of .32. By the way he did give me one. I still have it in the cigar box.

“You should tell someone what you know. There should be a history, so that men can learn from it.

He smiled. “Men do not learn from history. Each generation believes itself brighter than the last, each believes it can survive the mistakes of the older ones. Each discovers each old thing and they throw up their hands and say ‘See! Look what I have found! Look upon what I know!’ And each believes it is something new.

.32 rf is scarce but available. The bigger deal is price. You could buy quite a bit if you are willing to pay $5 a round. I won't do that my limit is $3.

The tube is a little test tube shaped copper tube down the center of the boolit.
#6 Powder is the British firm Curtis & Harvey's No.6 Powder which was the most commonly used powder in sporting rifles in the era.

I took apart a tubed cartridge over here:

The copper tube was designed to provide expansion faster than a conventional lead bullet, but slower than a hollow point bullet.
