Just need the turkeys and deer to cooperate.

With the drought we're having, running the feeder this summer has been great for the deer and turkeys. We've gotten some good game camera pics.
The squirrels down there are ridiculously fat.

Here in N.E. Texas the ground cracks are big enough the squirrels are falling in ‘em. It’ll be December before it cools down enough to even think about trying to shoot a deer.

I am going to try and head out when the weather cools a bit and check on some public land spots I have picked out. Unfortunately for me, I don't get to start hunting till November 19th in NC.

In Illinois archery season opens October 1. Ravin crossbow is good out to 50 yards or more. We have enough land to get free deer and turkey tags. I have not needed to hunt the firearms season in 3 years.

No turkey hunting in Houston Co, Tx. Did see deer tracks but still no pigs. Darn. Gave the SIL a game camera but only pics of him so far. GK tried a food plot last year but nothing much came up. SIL is getting some ground feeders this year.
    Whatever!
