Just getting into casting and reloading.I was at the gun store the other day Getting primers ,brass and looking for powder.Came across Reloader7,on the can it says great fo 45-70.Since this is what I'm loading for I bought some. Now I'm not so sure this is what I need .Looking at different loading data on here amd other websites, this does not seem like a very popular powder.I guess what I should say is there are more loads for IMR 4198,3031 and h4198.Should I get some of the other powders or just stick with what I have.I'm reloading for a Marlin GG and a Buffalo Classic using a RD 325 GC mould.I have a Lee reloading manual and I'm only wanting somwhere around 1,500 to 1,700fps from this load. That's probably more than I need any way for deer.Already killed one with a factory 405 Rem round whats that do about 1,350. Any help would be appreciated.
