Got a new to me used mold with handles and a question

I just got a used 2 cavity Lyman 358242U 125 gr. with both halves marked 32. The current Lyman site does not list the mold but does list 356242. I shoot 357 bullet in my 9mm's so I am happy with the bigger diameter but can anyone tell me more about this mold?

In my old Lyman book it is listed as available in two weights. 92 gr. and 121 gr. Uses #311 top punch.

There is no problem so great, that it cannot be solved by the proper application of high explosives.

That 32 might be an inspector's mark,
or just how they are sure to keep matching halves together during manufacturing.

Tim, #358242U means the mould is undersized. I hope this answers your question.

I believe the "32" is the cherry number.

32 would be block halves identifiers for that run. U should make it undersized but that might put you right on 357/358 too as they ran larger often.

“U”after the mould # indicates under size. This table may help you identify in the future.

So were the undersized made that way on purpose, or were they marked that way after being controlled for size? Maybe the cherry was getting worn out.
