Primer compound quantity and type LPP Vs LRP

Does anyone know if there is a difference in amount and/or type of priming compound between large rifle and large pistol primers?

do not know but would guess that in a "type" like regular or magnum there would be MORE or LESS of the same as small vs large.
BUT Mag vs regular I would think a hotter or different mix.

Since most primers built today are built around lead styfanate (sp) I suspect metal powders are involved, Magnesium or aluminum.

I contacted Federal Cartridge Corp and they said that the primer compounds between large rifle and large pistol were different in quantity and type. Also the cups are different in thickness and height. The anvils are different also.
So...it's no wonder we can get different results when we interchange them on light pressure loads.
