    Just love casting

Cast a bunch of 9mm boolits over the weekend. New Lee 6 cavity 356-147TC and it just dropped them out. Also a bunch from my Arsenal 5 cavity 359-130 RF that just works well also. PCing the last of them today. Gonna load them out over the holidays.... just fun

Love that Arsenal mold. My Cz75 eats those up.

Nice! I prefer casting to reloading, seems more creative, mad scientist meets forged in fire sort of thing.

You need to pass those on to one of us older guys to test and be sure they're safe.

I find it to be a therapeutic relaxing kind of thing in a weird way. I enjoy casting and powder coating as much as I like reloading and shooting. They all seem to go hand in hand. And can never have enough prepared bullets.

I am more of the 'cast as I need them' type. Decades past I'd cast a load of bullets, then I'd sell the gun, get a newer mold I like better or I just need bullets for another gun and don't have the lead to melt. Now days I keep ingots of the alloys I use and cast the bullets as I use them.

It does mean my casting sessions are shorter, but, more frequent.

I still enjoy it, but the novelty wore off a few years ago. Now its necessary work.

Count me among the"strange folks" but I enjoy casting and reloading as much or more than shooting.

Casting and reloading is a great time spent with my kids and grandkids it's quiet and a good time to talk.

One part of casting that never loses its fascination for me is how quickly a molten stream of metal solidifies into a useable bullet. Also I like to stockpile everything so that plays a factor into casting piles of bullets with no immediate need too. Now that I'm retired I have plenty of time to do what I enjoy.

Yea, it got so shooting was a way to get stuff to reload. Cast boolits are fun! They give you a sense of accomplishment. You made the actual boolit that came out the barrel. Tim

I also love to cast and reload. If I didn't reload I wouldn't be able to shoot my collection of antique and oddball guns. It's nice to be able to stockpile loaded ammo without taking out a second mortgage on the house.
