    Hy-Score 808/Diana 15** Restored**

I managed to find my air rifle that was stored away years ago. I got it when I was maybe 10 years old (64 years ago). It a Hy-Score 808 springer break barrel and needs a rear sight, trigger guard, and overall cleanup. Problem is finding these parts. Any help will be appreciated.

This is the air rifle I had when I was a kid, 60 years ago. I’m trying to “restore” it. I’ve got a Beeman R7 that I shoot now.

I know I searched too. But if you read the instructions on the link I sent, it said they have way too much to list everything. The link is to a parts request form. You fill it out and they check inventory and then get back to you.

    Might be worth a try.

I have a HY-Score 806 The trigger guard is formed sheet metal.
Nothing special about the rear sight, fits in a dovetail slot.
Easy to make with common hand tools.

I was given the gun by my dad's cousin now long departed; he asked me to fix it up for him.
The stock was cracked, cleaned it up and glued it, also ran a long drywall screw thru it for reinforcement, the re finished it.
It would only shoot a pellet about 30 feet, cleaned the barrel (absolutely filthy), oiled it up and now it shoots good.
I took it back to him and he said, keep it.
I don't shoot it much, but I treasure it, because of who gave it to me, an old war veteran from an almost forgotten war, WWII.
He seemed tickled that I had an M1 Garand, he had a high opinion of that rifle.
He told me if the M1 got too clogged with dirt and mud, and they had no water to clean it with they would pee on the action to get it working again.
Another fine soldier lost to history, all but forgotten.

The trigger guard, like you say, is stamped sheet metal and can be fairly easily adapted or made. It just snaps into a couple of notches in the bottom of the receiver.

The rear sight is totally different. It does not fit into a dovetail. I may not be able to replace it it outright. Here is a link to a parts breakdown.

I have an airgun similar to that. A Hyscore 806, which is a clone of the Diana 22. Most, if not all of the numbered model Hyscores, are clones of Diana's. Got mine for Christmas 60 years ago. I did a rehab on mine. New mainspring and leather seal. 525 fps with JSB express pellets. Not bad, for an old airgun, and still fun to shoot. Brings back old memories. Try Chambers in the UK. They will ship parts to the US. https://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisp...ch=Yes&sppp=50

My 806 seems totally different from what is on your parts break down, sorry I won't be of much help.

I found a few parts at JG Airguns for the Diana 15, which is interchangeable with my Hy Score 808. The hardest part is the trigger guard. No one seems to have it. Ended up ordering a trigger guard for a Savage 22 rifle that I should be able to modify from Numrich. Still need a rear sight. Found one in England and may end up ordering it.

Got the gun all stripped down now and have been cleaning and buffing parts. Going to apply Brownell’s cold blue on it when finished.

Did my daily check last night in my quest for parts to my Hy Score 808 and was surprised to find everything I need on flea-bay. A user listed a lot of miscellaneous parts for $38, so I did the buy it now and it’s on the way.

    My search is over!

Uncle Grinch, I see you are a retired telephone man. What job did you do for the phone company? I spent 35 years there, doing a whole bunch of different jobs. PM me if you wish to chat.

Got all my parts in and just finished getting my Hy Score put back together. I had this air rifle when I was 10 years old, that’s 64 years ago. It was in sad shape and suffered from years of neglect at my family’s hand. I’m happy to see it back together.
