    Another "tip" (ask me how I learned this one ) is to drill a small -- ~ 1.8" -- hole at any/all crack ends. Wash, then flush the cracked area with alcohol, rough surface with medium/fine sandpaper, and then apply epoxy -- making sure drill holes are filled. (I used a toothpick as an applicator). The drilled holes both help anchor the epoxy -- I used Gorilla brand (Amazon)) and keep the crack(s) from continuing.

    Yes, drilling the holes at the ends of a crack in metal will stop the crack from running any further as well.
    If a 41 won't stop it, I wouldn't bet my life on a 44.
