Happy for ya, I can't even tame my .308's unless I cast for them.

JUST GOTTA LOVE THIS JOINT.
Gorgeous gun!
That’s a big bad boomer of a big bore!
So the front sight has had some work. Looks good.
I see a Belt Mountain base pin. A screw is probably necessary with that kind of recoil.
Looking at the cylinder stop cuts, looks like a 5-shooter.
Guess that’d make sense with high pressure 50 cal chambers in that cylinder.
I’ll bet they even cut out the Ruger rifling chatter marks inside the barrel.
But the best thing of all is the right man owns it!
That cannon is way above my ability.
I like my 32’s and cannot lie!
If I had that heavy hitter I’d have to shoot it…that wouldn’t be good.
Always fun to see a dog with a new stick, a woman in new shoes or a guy with new gun.
Hope you enjoy it for a long time. I’ll bet it’s a keeper.

My 480 Ruger and 450g pills is about my limit but I sure do enjoy shooting it. Nice cannons.

Purty guns.
My supply of lead would disappear too fast.
My wrist hurts just looking at those.
I can assure you that your lead supply will disappear way faster than you think it will.
Most excellent, thanks for the pics.
You said you liked big bores. There’s a lot to like there. And they’re big…
Glad for you…and glad it’s you.
Those are way out of my league in power and recoil.
But if they fit you, enjoy the ride.

Enjoy it while you can ...
I liked big bores , fast cars and faster women ... I thought it would never end ...
then one day I got old ... Man whoever said "getting old sucks" wasn't telling the half of it ...
Time is freaking Brutal ... Enjoy them now , while you can ...shoot often and shoot a lot!

The 500 Linebaugh is a nice cartridge, and John makes nice guns. They will shoot Very well. The 500s (standard & long) also do not operate at that high of pressure and can be brought down to accurate 800-900 fps 400-450 gr loads. Even full loadings are easy on brass. I wouldn't reduce w/ W296/H110, but I have done so nicely w/ 2400 & Trailboss. Also, a 350 gr is not too light on the 500 Linebaugh, and brought down to 1200 fps-ish, it isn't much worse that a full load 44. Enjoy, and shoot anything from Deer to Bison w/ them, they work well in my experience.
Very classy shooters, enjoy them as much as you can for as long as you can!!

I like my BFR 45-70 revolver.
Most bullets from 435 - 525 gr will be shot around 800 - 1000 FPS most of the time. I’ll save the full bore loads if I ever go after the big bears or the Big 5 in Africa
Great looking single actions! Look to be just the tickets for squirrels and rats at the dump!
