    MIG welder

Been using a Horbart 120 for years.
Has never had any problems with it.
I like it, but it's a little small these days.
Looking for something like the Hobart 210 mpv.
Problem is no dealer or service on island anymore.
All we have is Miller, Lincoln, and what ever junk home jippo sells.
I have a TIG and stick, so not looking for a three in one.
    Suggestions????

I'd go with either Miller or Lincoln if you have a service place there.
They're both good, and neither really likes that cheap wire from China.

Hobart is owned and made by Miller. the big box stores like HD use a cheaper version of the Lincoln with the Lincoln name. Miller uses the Hobart name for its big box version. This was not always the case but it is now. I got and Everlast but i think a friend has a Hobart and he likes it better, i am not so sure. Everlast has a 5 year warrantee, none of the others come close. Mine has a glass panel with infinite heat and speed the Hobart and HD Lincoln have 7 or 8 settings. the Everlast was way cheaper than either than Lincoln or the Hobart and has a way better warrantee.

Shop I used to work for had all Miller units. Never had any problems with them, and they were all in constant use.

I have a Miller multi Process While it is arc, mig and tig. I will say the new inverter technology really makes for a nice easy to use welder and it a lot lighter than some of the old ones

Not sure what use you are going to put it through but the HF welders are pretty good values and work just fine for me. Might not run a business with one but for the home user plenty good I think

It's just for me to use around the house.
    Small projects.
The Hobart 120 I have now is great, but under powered.

We have a Miller dealer, but all the Horbart stuff is gone.
Used to have both, but no more.
I have a Miller plasma cutter, and like it.
    Don't use it much.
Next time I'm in that area, I'll stop and ask them.

I got the Hobart 140 handler after losing my Hobart 125. It will do 1/4 inch and more with a little help. One job I get regularly is welding thin tube to 3/4 bar stock on gate actuators. I preheat the bar stock with MAAP and the welds look like someone better than me did them.

Wish I had gotten the Horbart 140 instead of the 120.
But all I could afford at the time.
Looking for something that will weld thicker material.
Also think the 120 is getting old.
Not welding as clean as before.

Arson wildfire got my 125 but when I went to replace it the 140 Handler with 3 wire sizes, gas regulator, hose and solenoid was the same price, under $500. Keep your eye out for a deal. Let the Miller guy know you are looking for a deal. They may get something in that works for you.

Check the ground wire and clamp and clean connection surfaces.

I have to have gas too for everything from tiny silver braze to a big rosebud tip heating. I found an outfit in Texas down the street from Victor had new Journeyman Kits for less than 40% of retail. It's the latest half plastic regulators but flash back is built in and they work well. Made in Mexico I think.

I think every so often manufacturers will do deals to change their short term bottom line. Keep your eye out. The Victor guy was on the bay and Amazon at slightly higher prices.

Have had a Lincoln SP-135+ since 2002 (?) great little welder and same as used in every body shop I worked in. Have often thought of upsizing to a 220v machine but if I haven't needed one by now not going to need one in the future.

The Hobart 120 does, almost all, of what I wanted it to do.
If I'm going to get a new one, might as well go for the dual volt.
The Hobart 210 MVP is dual volts.
Might not use it, but good to have.
    My plasma is dual volt.
    Used the 220v only once.

You probably won't need the 220v until you get into the higher power settings, you can only drag so many amps through a 120v wall socket. 220v usually gives you a higher duty cycle with most machines.
