    270 135 Lee with PC

So, I have this mold (finally), and I m asking for suggestions on powder choice. Seeking velocity in the 2100 to 2400 range. If it comes together this will be for mule deer at no more than 150 yards.

Any experience or SWAG. It will all be beneficial.

I would contact smoke4320 & get his opinion. From what I understand the Bacon Grease is the best for high velocity. & the clear might be behind it. I use the wine because it puts on a heavy coat & I have to do 2 coats, 1st coat is all speckled but after the second coat wow what a painted jacket.

    Well, I

Well, my post was poorly worded and I didn't think it through.

My inquiry was not meant to address the PC, but rather the propellant powder.

From GRT. Looks like H4895 sould be good, if you can find any.
Generally I just go to hornady load site and use mid loads for start.
    Whatever!

Thanks. I'll start looking for some 4895.

I use this boolit in my old Mod. 70 lubed with the Lee Alox. The rifle loves it at about 1700-1800 getting excellent groups with iron sights at 100 yds when my eyes cooperate. It has shot well with 4895 and 4198 but my favorite is 13.5 gr of Red Dot. Although I have not hunted (yet) with the 270, I have used Lee's similar 7mm 135 gr. boolit in my 7mm TCU at an MV of 1800 fps and it has done a sterling job filling the freezer with venison at ranges of up to 100 yards.
