.327 Federal Magnum: Is There A 10-shot Side Gate Lever Rifle Out There?

Is there a 10-shot side-gate .327 Federal Magnum rifle out there?

I know Henry makes a .327 Federal Mag rifle and carbine, but I don't see them with side gate loading. And anyway, even the tube-loading Henry is backordered or otherwise very difficult to come by.

Have you heard rumors of a .327 Fed Mag side-gate lever action rifle out there?

Have you inquired of Rossi, concerning such a rifle? If nothing else, I would THINK that one of their Winchester M1892 carbines could be somehow rechambered.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but AFAIK Rossi only made .357mag, .44Mag & .454 Casull Model 92's - which makes a rechambering to the much smaller .32cal a non-starter.

Further, if re-barreled to .32cal, other parts would need re-work and/or replacement to feed the smaller cartridge.

Of course, a Marlin 1894 in .32-20 might be a better rework candidate.

Just be aware that .32 Fed Mag pressures (45,000 psi) are more than twice those of lesser .32cal chamberings - ergo, requiring a stronger rifle.

marlin made a few 1894's in 32 H&R mag that can be rechambered to 327 fed mag. many have done so already. if you find one, they are almost as rare as hens teeth, for less than $3000 let me know I might want to sell a body part or something to pay for it.
your best bet is to order a Henry

The Marlin 32 H&R 1894 does not have a side loading gate; it is just like the Henrys. Have one, never shot it.

What does one have in a long-barreled, lever action .327 Federal rifle, that one would NOT have in a .30 M1 U.S. Carbine? I find it hard to imagine that ballistics are much different. If such a piece is an "I've always wanted..." weapon, then so be it. In terms of serving an actual purpose, I'm sorta foggy on the concept.

I have a Henry 327 and the Marlin 1894 in 32 H&R mag. I guess in answer your question as to why. Hunting small game and targets primarily. Way more effective that a .22 and less destructive than .30 carbine. Both the Marlin and the Henry is head and shoulders more accurate that any M1 carbine I've ever shot. You can also adjust your loading's for intended purpose, difficult to do with an semi auto and maintain it's self feeding aspect. I do like my .30 carbine as a plinker or for defensive uses but as a hunting platform for me, it's a non starter. Just my opinion, other will certainly differ.

I would get the Henry when you can find one. I can see them not being around in a few years and you may have nothing.

I can tell ya one thing, you sure don't have to head shoot a raccoon with the 327 henry for a DRT!

Ya, it's a 30 carbine lever action, and the pistols are about as loud as the black hawk in 30 carbine!
