Cure for SA "Hellcat" terrible trigger needed

A close friend recently bought a SA Hellcat. He was seduced by the large capacity magazine & the red dot sight. I can't believe that he didn't try the trigger which is probably around 10-12 lbs. ( I didn't have enough weights to determine for sure & wouldn't be surprise if it is 15).

Has anyone tackled this problem before?

I checked triggershims.com & they don't have a listing for the Hellcat yet. I'm sending them an inquiry.

Any help would be appreciated: he's on the verge of trading it off.

    Thanks,
    Henry

Mcarbo offers spring kits both with and without a replacement trigger. Apex Tactical offers triggers but I could not find if they offer spring kits. I have installed products from both companies and usually have success with them, at least enough that the customer is satisfied. Yes, both companies have these materials for the Hellcat.

Thanks for the information. I phoned Lance @ Triggershims & he didn't have anything.

I have two hellcats, both have decent triggers. Your buddie's trigger sounds like an outlier on a hellcat. As mentioned, Apex tactical makes a trigger kit that includes sear spring and striker spring.

    auto5man & WinchesterM1,

Your combined replies are welcomed news.

My trigger weights are old school & all together total only 5.75 lbs. I suggested that my buddy visit a local gun shop & ask them to measure pull with a digital gauge. This will give him some facts to present to SA.

Once again, thanks for your input.

    Henry

Sure wish my Hellcat Pro had your trigger! Mine is heavier than my S&W double actions. My trigger gage isn't heavy enough. GW

I just bought the Hellcat Pro on Friday. I found it too, had a heavy trigger pull. I disassembled the slide, and found the striker assembly full of greasy grit. After a good cleaning I found the trigger much to my liking.
