Thanks for the info. Yeah a lot of websites say they have caps but they are all scams. I will just wait until my maker gets here. I am located in Seagrove NC. I purchased a stock for my 1860 army and have not shot it yet because a lack of caps.

They are pricey, but not much higher than some supplier sites.

Be sure to wear eye protection with that stock.. they tend to throw lots of debris.

These people have everything you need to make percussion caps.
Yes, it is corrosive, but isn't black powder, and all the substitutes?
No longer a reason to whine about no percussion caps.

Actually the BP residue protects from the corrosive priming compound. Corrosive primers weren't a problem until we started using smokeless powder.

How many percussion caps can you make with one batch of priming compound from 22reloader?

I never counted how many primers that I made per one package of Prime All.
Because I was reloading 22 lr's at the same time.
But it does go pretty far.
But you do not mix up the whole batch at one time.
You mix small batches , load up some primers.
While the sealer is drying , I mix up another batch of compound , then reload more ammo or primers.
You do not want to have a can of this sensitive propellant just sitting around , because it is impact sensitive.
When I ordered my Prime All.
I ordered 5 bags of it.
I have three bags left and have done bunches of primers.
But I will store the other bags unmixed for safety.
    Also.
    When you mix Prime All.
Mix it by Weight , not per volume as the instructions say.
Their mix works well when measured with their scoops.
But the mix is far more consistent and accurate when done by weight per the H48 primer compound ratio.

Making your own primers is well worth it.

Do you have a link to the H48 instructions with the weights to be used by chance?

I found my H48 and FH42 primer mixes on Northwest firearms site.
    Under Primer mixtures
The FH 42 can be made from the prime All compound chemicals.
It is very similar to H 48.
But just doesn't use the ground glass in it.
But FH42 seems to be more Reliable to me.
I just typed in Priming Mixtures/ northwestfirearms.com and it was on their site.

Too cool KCSO.....lol!!! Yeah.....I am quite fond of the rock locks myself. Several years ago an outfit in WVA ran a special on the Tom Fuller black, English flints. I bought a couple bags of the two sizes I use most and that oughta be enough to take me out.

But...I do like to shoot them persuckshun revolvers too....

Today at a local Walmart they had a whole carton on new packaged tins of no. 11 caps. I pick up the carton as it was not behind the counter and there was no price on them. There was also no employees anywhere or else I would have found what the price was.

Everyone seems to have their panties in a bunch about making caps with Prime-All.
Go to Aardvark.com and they will teach you how to make NON-CORROSIVE caps if that is your hangup.
    Geesh!
