I mainly load buckshot and keep 25 loaded and ready at all times. I use the MTM shell boxes and they work well for keeping them protected until they are loaded. Sometimes I'll have to load a few to top my box off mid season, but 25 will usually get me through.

That is a true 1 inch thick board in the middle.

Turns out that say Federal Top Gun 12 gauge shells are just a bit longer than the Winchester AAHS’s. The Federals are a real booger to get out of there. The Winchesters = easy peasy.

That is a commercial version of a .50 cal ammo can (from Academy Sports).

Soooo…. for the next one I do, I am just going to use a regular 1X8 ripped down to about 6 and 7/8ths wide. The true 3/4” thickness will make it easier go get Federal Top Gun shells in and out of there.

To answer the original question, used boxes. Get some blank mailing labels so you can write down and mark the amount of shot (1oz etc), primer, powder and weight of same, and wad.

Surprisingly, Ballistic Products sells White Shot Shell Boxes as well as some neato "Labels" you can stick on the boxes and print anything you want on them.

    Here's a link directly to them. https://www.ballisticproducts.com/Or...s/products/30/

A good way to store your loaded shot shells?

I also use regular shot shell boxes I have emptied myself or picked up at the range. I prefer Win AA boxes but just about any will do.

For specialty rounds like slugs and buckshot I have some MTM plastic boxes that hold 25 rounds. I also have some plastic shell packages that hold 5 rounds and use them for my Non Toxic Slugs
