Latest and Last Lead Haul - Don't need no mo!

Scored 1 metric ton + of soft lead today. Brings my total up to 4200 pounds. Based on my average life expectancy that's 467 pounds a year.
That calculates out around 5900 of those beautiful Martini Henry 550 grain bullets per year.

Here's the latest pile awaiting smelting.

And close to 50,000 primers over the next 10 years if I did my maffs right. You are certainly optimistic about the future availability of "stuff".

Got all the fixins as they say down here. Laid in everything but the lead after the last shortage past. Not at all optimistic - that's why its cached.

Scored about 400 lbs of lead ingots this weekend, all 1 or 1/2 lb ingots. Pencil hardness is ~9 brhn, would you remelt make new ingots and xrf or just add some Linotype to 12-15 brhn? This was from telephone lead but is not known if anything was alloyed as this was this persons father’s, who passed.

Wow, and I thought my 1000lb pile was enough! Good score, hope those martini bullets keep on coming for a very long time...

Very satisfying to look at the pile, thinking,”That’s mine”.

Even better when looking at the stack of ingots made from it.

    Congrats on a great score.

Free lead is always hard to walk away from! Now the work starts.
Take a kid to the range, you'll both be glad you did.

That's a lot of lead. You could make yourself a lead coffin, put some of your toys and reloading gear in with you, and add a sign that says, "I'm taking these with me".
