    Vickers guns at Bisley

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I3vW_QJFivQ

This was last weekend. 16 thousand rounds of .303.

It's a bit long winded at times due to it being a education type demonstration. First lot of firing is at about 4 minutes.

    Way cool.

I'd read somewhere, that its inventor, Mr. Maxim was at some sort of exposition and wanted to show off his new,
and 'better mouse trap' that was going to make him a fortune.

He was talking to someone that told him if he really wanted to make a lot of money,
he needed to invent a better and faster way for people to kill each other.

He went home and came up with the Maxim machine gun.
A few modifications, and it quickly evolved into the Vickers
and was the standard British machine gun by 1912.
