    marlin 1894 pre 1935

i'm looking at a marlin 1894 in 38-40 ( always wanted a 38-40) looking at pictures only. the reciever is blued. i was wondering if they blued some, or if they were all color case hardened. at $1350.00 i will probably buy it if the bore is good. anyone know if some were blued??

    .

AFAIK, early Marlin 1894's had blued receivers
