    Increased ammo production

Freedom munitions is opening a new production site. Hopefully this will help ease the shortage.

Makes me wonder what THIS outfit will do to obtain primers.
I just hope they don't end up selling their wares to the IRS, USDA, and other "high volume utilizers" of the taxpayers ammo.

I am not holding my breath.

A 10,000 sq ft building is not going to produce vast quantities of ammunition. A typical Home Depot is i10 times larger at 100,000 sq ft.

You guys DIDN'T READ the article. They are opening up an operation to increase brass and projectiles. NOT finished ammo. Ain't gonna do much of nothing

More brass and projectiles is a good start to meet today’s demand.

    Useless without primer and powder.

Mustang, you're looking at it from the wrong angle, powder and primers are useless without brass and bullets. They would not be adding production of brass and projo's unless they were the bottleneck in their supply chain to make/remanufacture ammo. It would make no economic sense to do this if they didn't already have the primers and powders needed but were short of the cases and bullets.

It would be great if they also started producing primers for resale to reloaders.

    That's the key.
Actually if the powder & primer makers produced ENOUGH to go beyond the needs of the finished ammo makers.
They get theirs first, we get more or less the over runs.

I tend to agree...so if a new venture is making more factory ammunition, it will reduce the supply of powder and primers to the reloading market.

Friday I went to Academe Sports(first time) and although they only sell the finished product, they had well stocked shelves loaded with bullets with lots of calibers. I bought(don't condemn me)2 boxes of Winchester .223, 20 rds for $13.00 each.

If speaking of the Freedom arms ammo Co I know of, they are very close to CCI where they surely have access to primers... Used to buy there reloaded stuff then they raised prices to crazy levels so like all others became unaffordable...

Don't hold your breath ... Saturday I went to 5 different local gun shops , Hebert's Gun & Reloading , Jim' Firearms , Baton Rouge Ammo and Reloading , Bass Pro Shop and Cabela's Sporting Goods .
Then went to Precision Indoor Shooting Range / Precision Once Fired Brass ( they sold once fired range brass ) I found exactly ... 0 ... 38 special cases , either once fired or new or Loaded Ammo ...N-O-N-E !!!
The man at the shooting range told me they no longer sell brass , he didn't know what the new ownder did with it .
I've been doing this a long time and have never seen such a lack of brass or ammo ... they didn't even have plastic ammo boxes to put 38/357 cases in ... That's just insane !
