    Black powder Cartridge Boxes

G'day forum members, just joined up and thought I would make my first post. I have been a keen muzzle loader for many years but have also become quite interested in BP cartridge re-loading the last few years. During the Covid-19 lockdowns we had to endure down here last year I decided to try and come up with some "Period' looking cartridges boxes for my cartridges instead of the usual plastic boxes we all use, the 45/70 boxes are old winchester boxes I had lying around (I never throw stuff out just in case!) and the 44/40 boxes are made from scratch.

I have done them from poster board. Think bending sheet metal and leave extra for the joints to overlap and glue. If you have an old box that can be sacrificed disassemble it carefully and you have your template to lay out the rest.

    Those look good also.

Thanks Lead pot, great box from your friend, I need to search for more 19th century style fonts for my next batch of boxes.

    Welcome Swagman
You have arrived at a good place to begin the journey of BPRC shooting.
Those are good looking boxes. That is one item I have not ventured into....
44-40 (44 WCF) and 45-70 are two fine old cartridges that will not let you down.

Thanks missionary5155, I am really enjoying experimenting with the BP cartridges and there is a lot of good information on this forum.
